INCA and Sustainability of wood
Our company currently uses 75% of the wood consumption from FSC certified wood, this means that the source of wood comes from a sustainable background with no harm to the forests and no unlawful practise of deforestation. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the most important international organisation evaluating ecologically and socially sustainable forestry and wood processing.

Tracking back to the source
All the products (i.e. the hammocks, hammock chairs) have a FSC code that can be tracked to the source from where the wood is produced. This helps us to maintain a chain of custody (CoC) for all the wood that is sourced though our suppliers. In addition, such different types of wood used can be supervised and the authenticity can be verified.

GOTS certification

INCA AND ORGANIC FARMING

We at INCA are currently producing roughly around 150,000 meters of organic cotton for our products. Promising to use lesser chemicals and dyes on our products we strive to promote sustainable farming and promise a more environmental friendly future. We are always taking steps to improve and give back to the environment. Currently, we are dealing with 20+ organic certified SKU’s that cover an umbrella of 9 colours.

ABOUT GOTS – CERTIFIED FOR ORGANIC COTTON

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. A product with the GOTS label grade ‘made with organic’ must contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibres. All chemical inputs such as dyestuffs and auxiliaries used must meet some certain environmental and toxicological criteria. The choice of accessories is limited in accordance with ecological aspects as well. A functional waste water treatment plant is mandatory for any wet-processing unit involved and all processors must comply with social criteria. OEKO-TEX

INCA produces a large quantity of OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, this another initiative where we work towards reducing the chemical consumption and still continue to work towards greener initiatives.

Oeko-Tex® is among the world’s leading certifications for textiles, a so-called health certificate as the finished product is tested for hazardous substances. The criteria for Oeko-Tex® 100 are more rigorous than those set out by law and specifically concern the content of chemicals which can cause, or are suspected of causing, skin irritation, allergies, cancer, damage to the nervous system and internal organs, or reproduction. The list of considered chemicals is regularly updated and adapted.
